The Cayuga Economic Development Agency (CEDA) has hired DANIELLE SZABO as its economic development specialist. She works to retain and expand existing businesses, as well as to attract new businesses to expand or relocate to Cayuga County. Szabo has more than 10 years of workforce-development experience with a focus on recruitment and retention strategies. She has worked with local employers in Cayuga, Onondaga, and Oswego counties to build more efficient hiring and onboarding processes that have led to overall system changes. Szabo has a bachelor’s degree in global and international relations with a concentration in global politics and global culture from SUNY Oswego. 

VIRGINIA (POHLIG) CLIVE has joined Little Falls Hospital in the Dolgeville Primary Care Center. She received her master’s degree as an adult nurse practitioner at SUNY Polytechnic Institute and her bachelor’s degree in nursing from SUNY Plattsburgh. Clive is a board-certified adult nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She has 23 years of experience providing primary care and long-term care for patients 13 years and older. 

EBERE AZUMAH, M.D., a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN), has joined the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) Women’s Health Center. She previously was an attending physician at Locums Tenens in Alpharetta, Georgia, and at Unity Health Care and Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C. At Providence Hospital, she was a peer review chair where she had the opportunity to investigate and identify the cause of adverse medical events. She mentored, taught, and supervised Family Medicine and OB-GYN residents. Azumah was a co-chair for the Managed Continuing Medical Education (CME) program where she developed curriculum and organized guest lectures. She also supervised the in-house midwifery team. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. Azuham received her master’s degree of public health with a health management concentration from Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts. She earned her doctorate of medicine from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan, and she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Long Island Jewish-Northwell School of Medicine in New Hyde, New York. Azumah is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology.

JOHN A. LOVIER, M.D., a specialist in OB-GYN, has joined the MVHS Women’s Health Center. He previously was director of women’s health at the University of Vermont’s Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, New York. Lovier was also the chief of obstetrics and gynecology at Canton-Potsdam Hospital in Potsdam. He is board-certified with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Lovier earned his bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and a master’s degree from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. He received his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York, and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Strong Memorial Hospital, University of Rochester Medical Center.

DANIEL COLEMAN and DAVID HUTTER, both associates, have joined the Barclay Damon law firm.

Coleman is a member of the torts & products liability defense and professional liability practice areas, primarily concentrating on civil litigation matters involving premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, and professional liability. He also defends both individuals and businesses from claims of negligence.

Hutter is also a member of the torts & products liability defense and professional liability practice areas. In addition to his role at Barclay Damon, he serves as a first lieutenant in the New York Army National Guard.

SAMUEL P. BURGESS has joined Bond, Schoeneck & King’s Syracuse office as senior counsel in the firm’s health care and business practices. He represents and advises hospitals, physicians, physician organizations, clinically integrated networks, accountable care organizations, and ambulatory surgery centers. Burgess assists these entities with general corporate transactions. He also advises clients on daily regulatory issues and compliance with state and federal law. In addition, Burgess represents corporate clients in a wide variety of transactional matters, including formation, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, succession planning, and commercial financing.
