SYRACUSE — Zonta Club of Syracuse, a member of Zonta International, recently inducted new board members, the organization said in a news release.
Zonta International, headquartered in Oak Brook, Ill., describes itself as “a worldwide service organization of executives in business and the professions working together to advance the status of girls and women.”
The newly elected local board members include Kelly Gaggin of Fayetteville, who is director of public relations for the Syracuse Academy of Science Charter School in Syracuse.

Also elected was Jessica Sloma of Bridgeport, who is president of Ultimate Arrival, LLC, providing transportation brokerage services, and J. Sloma Consulting, which assists companies in their strategic growth. Wendy Matthews, of Syracuse, also joins the board.
Debbie Vecchio of Onondaga Hill, VP and financial advisor for Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC in Syracuse, and Carol Zilm of Manlius, who retired after more than 30 years as a medical-device executive at firms that included Cardinal Health, Inc. (NYSE: CAH) and Johnson & Johnson, Inc. (NYSE: JNJ), also join the Zonta board.
Zilm is serving as the first vice president of the Zonta Club of Syracuse.
Theresa Harris of Cicero, owner of Special Event Music, is serving the final year of her term as president of the local Zonta Club.
The Zonta Club of Syracuse currently has 48 members, the organization said.
Zonta International has more than 33,000 members in 1,254 clubs in 67 countries.
