Binghamton, home to the Binghamton Mets AA baseball team and Binghamton Senators AHL hockey club, is the number 13 minor-league sports market in the country.
That’s according to the latest ranking released Monday by Street & Smith’s SportsBusiness Journal, which researched 229 minor-league markets and ranked 212 of them.
Syracuse — which features the Syracuse Chiefs AAA baseball team, Syracuse Crunch AHL hockey club, and Syracuse Silver Knights MASL indoor soccer team — ranked 38th on the list.

Elmira, which offers the Elmira Jackals ECHL hockey team, placed 97th on the list. Watertown, home to the Watertown Wolves FHL hockey team was number 124.
Finally, Utica, which hosts the Utica Comets AHL hockey franchise, ranked 175th.
The rankings were based on several factors including team longevity, attendance, and economic data for the market.
