UTICA — The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation for Women in Business (CWB) and the Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce will present the “Advancing Women to the Top” program on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
The event will be held at the Dorothy Smith Center at RCIL at 1607 Genesee St. in Utica.
Roberta Phillips, executive director of CWB, and Natalie Masri, senior director of CWB, will discuss how women’s advancement is not just a “woman’s issue,” but rather an economic one. Organizations perform best when they leverage the full potential of all of their diverse talent, they contend.

The U.S. Chamber’s CWB recently released a report, called “Advancing Women to the Top,” with research adviser McKinsey & Company. The study examines the best practices of 12 Fortune 1000 companies that are good at developing women at the board, C-Suite, and management levels. Phillips and Masri will challenge the men and women in the audience to commit themselves and their organizations to developing and supporting more women at higher levels in business and community leadership roles.
The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion, mentoring sessions, and a networking reception. Panelists for this event are RoAnn Destito, Donna Donovan, Mary Malone McCarthy, Cathy Newell, Symeon Tsoupelis, and Eve Van de Wal.
Registration will begin at 3:30 p.m., with the program starting at 4 p.m., followed by a networking reception at 6:30 p.m. The cost to attend the program is $30.
