SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse University (SU) is raising tuition for full-time undergraduate students to $66,580, representing about a 4.5 percent increase from last year’s tuition rate of $63,710.

SU announced the new tuition figure in a statement on its online news website.

At the same time, the university announced what it called a “major investment” in student-financial support as part of its 2025-26 budget, allocating more than $391 million to financial aid, scholarships, grants, and related assistance. That is up 7 percent from last year’s financial support and reflects the SU’s “deepening commitment to expanding educational access and opportunity,” the university contended.

“Our continued investment in financial aid ensures that students from all backgrounds can thrive here — academically, personally and professionally,” Ryan Williams, VP for enrollment services at SU, said in the statement. He added that the university received “a record-breaking number of applications this year” for the its incoming class of students.

Besides the increased tuition, the SU board of trustees also recently approved rates for room and board, as well as fees.

The average room rates for most full-time new and returning undergraduates will be $11,000.

In addition, the Orange Unlimited meal plan is now $8,120 and the student activity fee will be $219. The residential internet and cable access and service fees will remain the same at $460; the co-curricular fee will be $280; and the health and wellness fee will cost $890.

Syracuse University went on to say it “remains committed” to meeting 100 percent of demonstrated financial need. Financial-aid packages typically include a combination of Syracuse-funded scholarships and grants, federal and state aid, private scholarships, federal student loans and work-study opportunities, the university said.
