SYRACUSE — The Syracuse Orange announced it will play two Friday night games in the upcoming 2014 football regular season.
The Orange will host Villanova to open the season on Aug. 29 at 7:30 p.m.
More than a month later, Syracuse will open its second season in the Atlantic Coast Conference, hosting conference newcomer, Louisville, on Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. ESPN will broadcast the Syracuse-Louisville game, according to a news release the Syracuse University (SU) athletics department distributed Tuesday.

The rest of the 2014 home football schedule includes games against Maryland on Sept. 20; Florida State on Oct. 11; North Carolina State on Nov. 1; and Duke, which visits the Carrier Dome on Nov. 8.
Syracuse will also play Notre Dame in New York’s College Classic on Sept. 27 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
The 2014 road gridiron schedule includes contests at Central Michigan on Sept. 13; Wake Forest on Oct. 18; Clemson on Oct. 25; Pittsburgh on Nov. 22; and at Boston College on Nov. 29.
