SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Legendary pop singer Billy Joel will perform his 7th concert in the Carrier Dome on March 20, 2015.
Syracuse University (SU) and concert promoter AEG Live made the announcement Monday morning at the Carrier Dome. SU posted a news release about the concert on its website.
Tickets for the concert go on sale beginning this Saturday.

No other musical artist has performed as many shows at the venue, SU said in the news release.
Joel last performed in the Carrier Dome in 2006.
Pete Sala, senior associate athletics director for facility operations and Carrier Dome managing director, described Joel as an “iconic performer.”
Billy Joel has notched 33 Top 40 hits and 23 Grammy nominations since signing his first solo recording contract in 1972, according to the singer’s website.
In addition to his previous appearances at the Dome, Joel served as SU’s commencement speaker in 2006.
He also made a $320,000 donation to the school’s College of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) as part of his commitment to music education and his recently launched music-education initiative, which provides gifts of seed money, musical scholarships, and endowments to East Coast colleges.
SU said it used the funding to establish Billy Joel Fellowships in Composition at VPA’s Setnor School of Music.
