A “few hundred” positions are available during the State Fair, which runs from Aug. 22 through Sept. 3. Jobs are available in areas that include general labor and maintenance; customer service; parking attendants; admission gate staff; and cashiers.
Some jobs may start before the first day of the State Fair, the state notes.
Interested applicants must bring specific documents to the job fair to secure an interview. They include two forms of unexpired identification. A list of acceptable documents is available here.
Applicants under age 18 must also bring valid and original New York State working papers. Applicants who are military veterans should bring a copy of their DD-214.
Applicants without the necessary documents will not receive an interview. Jobs for applicants under age 18 are limited. The inability to work all days of the Fair will limit available assignments. Work hours, rate of pay and duration of employment varies by assignment. Applicants may be subject to background investigations or criminal history checks.
The State Fair does not hire staff for food vendors or concessionaires, who should be contacted directly.
