ENDICOTT, N.Y. — The Village of Endicott will use a $350,000 state grant to conduct renovation work on the 10s block of Washington Avenue.
The funding is from New York’s Main Street program, which provides financial resources and technical assistance for “traditional” Main Streets and neighborhoods statewide, the Village of Endicott said in a news release.
Main Street grants are available to units of local government and nonprofit organizations that intend to renovate “historic” downtowns, mixed-use commercial districts, and village centers.

The Village of Endicott participated in a competitive process, as only about 20 percent of applicants are awarded funding, per the release.
“The Village of Endicott is very fortunate to have been awarded this opportunity to make improvements to Washington Avenue,” Village Manager Anthony Bates said. “This is another piece of the puzzle that is our revitalization strategy for Endicott.”
The village’s goal in targeting the downtown center is to “maximize” the Main Street grant’s impact on the community, as several contiguous buildings will be “improved and renovated.”
