SYRACUSE, N.Y. — St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center has scheduled an open house on Nov. 21 as it seeks “experienced” registered nurses (RN).
The open house is scheduled between 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. in the hospital’s L100B conference room.
The hospital announced the open house in a news release distributed on Thursday.

CPEP is short for comprehensive psychiatric emergency program, according to the hospital’s website.
“Designed to enhance healing and foster relationships between their colleagues, patients and providers, our busy units offer RNs a true career experience in medical/surgical/telemetry, critical care or emergency, and true dedication to compassionate care,” Mary Jo Vona, RN, director of nursing-talent acquisition and retention for St. Joseph’s, said in the news release.
In its news release, St. Joseph’s said it offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus for experienced RNs, training, individualized orientations, and opportunities to get involved in committees that include shared governance and employee engagement.
In addition, the hospital also offers a $2,500 finder’s fee for St. Joseph’s employees if they refer a qualified RN who becomes a new hire.
St. Joseph’s is offering free parking in the Medical Officer Center parking garage, according to the news release.
The facility asks those attending to bring their parking stub for validation and a picture identification for a visitor badge.
