With the holiday shopping season underway, the annual Small Business Saturday is set for this Saturday, Nov. 29, and Christmas & Crafts is scheduled Friday through Sunday at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona.
American Express founded Small Business Saturday in 2010 and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) officially cosponsored it in 2011.
“It is an important part of small businesses’ busiest shopping season,” the SBA said on its website.

On its website, the Downtown Ithaca Alliance is promoting Small Business Weekend this Friday through Sunday and includes a list of businesses and deals they’re offering.
Several Binghamton businesses will be offering discounts and holding events in honor of Small Business Saturday, according to the City of Binghamton. Visitors are also invited to take part in Binghamton’s “Passport to Washington Street” promotion, available only on Saturday. To participate, shoppers who purchase merchandise at three of the six featured businesses listed below can get their passport stamped at each stop and enter for a chance to win a gift card.
The featured businesses are Garland Gallery, Goldenrod Studios, Mabel D. Orr, Mamabear Brand Boutique, Stellar Human, and Three of Cups Candles.
Christmas & Crafts
Besides Small Business Saturday, the Christmas & Crafts show returns to Turning Stone Resort Casino this weekend with more than 240 vendors. The show will be held in the event center, the outer halls including the Atrium, and the Cypress Conference Center.
It’s scheduled Friday from 5-9 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Local crafters and artisans will showcase hand-crafted décor, unique jewelry, sweet and savory indulgences, crocheted items, wreaths, pet apparel, treats, and accessories, glass, woodcrafts, ceramics, pottery, photography, candles, soaps, clothing, and personalized gifts, per the announcement.
The show entrance is located on the second level of the parking garage.
Christmas & Crafts tickets cost $7 for adults; $5 for first responders, military, and seniors age 55 and up; and $3 for children ages 6-12. A multi-day ticket, which is good for all three days, costs $14.
