SYRACUSE, N.Y. — SkyOp LLC will conduct a drone training course at the Syracuse Technology Garden, beginning Tuesday Feb. 27.
The course is scheduled Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for three weeks through March 15, the company said on its website. The course fee is $1,490.

About the course
The course is called Intro to sUAS, which is short for small unmanned-aircraft systems, or what are also known as drones.
The industries in which drones are having an impact include construction, agriculture, real estate, surveying & mapping, photography, public safety, telecom, and insurance, SkyOp contends.
In order to pilot drones in these industries, the Federal Aviation Administration (or FAA) requires that all commercial-drone operators secure their remote pilot certification.
The Intro to sUAS course gives business owners in those industries the training that they or their employees need to “safely” fly drones commercially. It’ll also help them incorporate drones in their businesses. The course will also prepare participants to pass an exam to become a certified, commercial drone pilot, according to the SkyOp release.
