SYRACUSE — Rural/Metro Medical Services is adding 14 new medical-billing positions in Syracuse to support operations in Florida.
The hiring will swell the ambulance company’s Central New York staffing to more than 300 employees. Its Syracuse Zone Billing Center — one of four Rural/Metro regional centers in the country — is in line to grow to nearly 50 people.
Although they will handle Florida billing, the new jobs will be located at Rural/Metro Medical Services of Central New York’s headquarters at 488 W. Onondaga St. The ambulance company added 2,000 square feet there to make room for the hiring. It had been leasing 26,000 square feet from property owner Martin Yenawine.
