ILION — Remington Arms Company, LLC, which employs more than 1,000 people at its plant in Ilion, won a contract for the procurement of carbines from the U.S. Army Contracting Command in Warren, Mich.
The indefinite contract is for the procurement of a maximum of 120,000 M4/M4A1 carbines. The carbines are the Army’s primary individual combat weapons.
Remington will produce them at its Ilion facility.

The Army has initially ordered 24,000 carbines, with deliveries starting in September 2013.
