GEDDES, N.Y. — The proposed state budget includes money to upgrade the stages at the Expo Center at the New York State Fairgrounds for year-round festivals and music events.
The proposed $252 billion spending plan — which Gov. Kathy Hochul outlined on Tuesday — includes $35 million for capital projects at the State Fairgrounds, per the executive budget briefing book, which was forwarded to media outlets.
The venue — which hosts large-gathering events such as graduations — will again be the site of the upcoming three-day Winter Fair on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1-2.
