DeWITT — Fred Pestello, the 13th president of Le Moyne College, will leave the school later this year to assume the presidency at Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Mo.
Le Moyne made the announcement in a news release distributed today.
Like Le Moyne, Saint Louis is a Jesuit institution.

Pestello will remain as president of Le Moyne through June 30, the school said.
Pestello has served as Le Moyne’s president since 2008, Sharon Kinsman Salmon, chair of the Le Moyne College board of trustees, said in the news release.
“The past six years have been a time of tremendous achievement and growth for Le Moyne, and the institution has moved forward on all key fronts, from academics to facilities to vibrant growth in enrollment. We wish him well in his new role,” Kinsman Salmon said.
The board of trustees is beginning the process of finding a new president, the school said.
