NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. — Rome Research Corp., a unit of PAR Technology Corp. (NYSE: PAR), has won a $3.7 million subcontract providing services at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) in Dayton, Ohio.
PAR Technology announced the subcontract in a news release Tuesday.
Based in New Hartford, PAR provides hardware and software to the hospitality industry. PAR’s government business offers computer-based, system design, engineering, and technical services to the U.S. Department of Defense and various federal agencies.

Layton, Utah–based Rylex Consulting, LLC awarded the subcontract to provide client systems and server-administrator support services for the 88th communications group at WPAFB, PAR said in the release.
Rome Research employees will work as part of a team of military, civilians, and other contractors supporting WPAFB and other activities of the Air Force and U.S. Department of Defense.
The work includes technical support in the configuration, implementation, operations, and troubleshooting of information systems and computers connected to the WPAFB network backbone, PAR said.
The WPAFB network domains include the non-secure Internet-protocol router network (or NIPRNet) and secret Internet-protocol router network (or SIPRNet).
Rome Research will provide technical support to include service-desk support; the receiving, configuration and/or deployment of end-user devices and common-use devices; and functional-systems support of servers/systems connected to the WPAFB network backbone and the Air Force standard-wireless system, according to the PAR news release.
