SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The owner of the Collegian Hotel & Suites at 1060 E. Genesee St. in Syracuse says the hotel won’t be closing its doors to become student housing, “contrary to earlier reports.”
In a news release, Scholar Hotel Group confirmed the property will remain a hotel for the “foreseeable future, providing a home away from home for travelers and visitors to the city.”
The Collegian Hotel & Suites first opened its doors as the Genesee Grande Hotel in 1957. Over the years, the hotel has undergone several renovations and upgrades, Scholar Hotel Group said.
