SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Organizers of the popular Mountain Goat Run have postponed the 42nd annual edition of the 10-mile road race through Syracuse city streets, which had been scheduled for the morning of May 3.
All other associated events, including four April training runs, a May 1 Mountain Goat Run Hall of Fame Induction ceremony, a beer-tasting event, a race-day kid’s fun run, and a post-race party have also been scrubbed for now.
“On matters of public health and safety we take our guidance from the officials entrusted with protecting the public in this area. We understand our role, along with our partners, in ensuring a safe environment for all participants, volunteers, spectators, and supporters that meets the standards set by those officials,” organizers wrote in a Monday email announcement.
