The Oneida Indian Nation invested with 2,346 New York state vendors, including 289 Oneida County vendors, 137 Madison County vendors, and 387 Onondaga County vendors. The Nation expects to grow those numbers in 2025 as it continues to award contracts in connection with its expansion and renovation project at Turning Stone Resort Casino. In November, the Nation announced 26 awards to subcontractors to support construction of the new Grand Expo, The Crescent Hotel, and a new parking garage.
The $370-million project at Turning Stone will double the resort’s existing conference and events spaces and add a new hotel, restaurant, parking garage, additional outdoor parking, and an on-site medical center for employees and guests.
The Nation is also investing $50 million to expand Point Place Casino in Bridgeport (Town of Sullivan), doubling the size of the casino and adding a 100-room hotel, event space, a restaurant, and other amenities.
The Verona Collective — the Nation’s cannabis business — is also expanding with two new dispensaries opening in Sherrill and Chittenango and plans for two more dispensaries to open by the end of this year, brining the total number of locations to six.
The Nation’s investments in employees go beyond wages and benefits. It also offers tuition reimbursement, scholarships, training schools, paid on-the-job training, and The Villages at Stoney Creek employee housing.
“We know that if you are not moving forward, you are moving backward,” Oneida Indian Nation Representative and Turning Stone Enterprises CEO Ray Halbritter said in a statement. “Continuous investment is the only way to sustain that momentum. We are proud to reinvest all of our proceeds in central New York and the Oneida people by building on investments in our people, our enterprises, our team, and the region’s business community year after year.”
Other Oneida Indian Nation enterprises include YBR Casino & Sports Book, The Lake House at Sylvan Beach, The Cove at Sylvan Beach, Maple Leaf Markets, SavOn Convenience stores, an RV park, and several marinas.
