SEYED ARMIN SAFIZADEH-SHABASTARY has transitioned to peace officer at Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC). In accordance with Section 6306 of the NYS Education law, the board of trustees has the authority to designate one of more public safety officers as peace officer. He previously held the position of technical assistant at MVCC since 2014. Safizadeh-Shabastary holds an associate degree in liberal arts and sciences from MVCC. DAVE WARREN has transitioned to head coach/athletics specialist. He has been assistant to the associate dean of athletics at MVCC since 1997 and has been the baseball coach since 2001. He holds an associate degree in applied science – sports and recreation management from Herkimer County Community College and a bachelor’s degree in physical education from SUNY Cortland.

JOSEPH P. VIVIANO has joined HighPoint Advisors, LLC as a financial advisor. His career in the financial services industry began in 2010. Prior to joining HighPoint, Viviano worked as a financial planner for several other local independent firms. He holds a life & health insurance license, as well as Series 66 and Series 7 registrations. Viviano graduated from Le Moyne College

WAYNE BODOW has been hired by Combined Worksite Solutions as an account executive. He has retired from his law practice in Central New York, where he practiced for more than 35 years. Bodow has also been the author of numerous articles on a wide variety of subjects, many of which were published by the NYS Bar Association. He specializes in group benefits for small and large employers. 

Bousquet Holstein PLLC announced that JANE YUE ZHANG has joined the firm as an associate attorney in the real estate, business transactions, and immigration practice groups. She previously practiced immigration law and served as in-house counsel of a commercial real-estate development company in Syracuse. Zhang is a graduate of Syracuse University College of Law, and Barnard College, Columbia University, where she was a political science major. While in law school, she served as an intern for the Hon. Anthony J. Paris at the Onondaga County Supreme Court. Zhang speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese and is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey. 

EMER M. STACK has joined Hancock Estabrook LLP as an associate and represents diverse clients in both state and federal courts throughout New York state. She is a member of the firm’s litigation and appellate practices. Stack previously served as law clerk to Hon. Elizabeth A. Wolford, U.S. District Judge for the Western District of New York, and was a law clerk in the Staff Attorney’s Office for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. She is a graduate of Cornell University and received her J.D. degree from Fordham University School of Law.

FREDERICK (RICK) J. ALFREDS has joined Scolaro Fetter Grizanti & McGough, P.C. as an associate attorney (admission pending) in the firm’s litigation and real estate practice groups. He is a graduate of St. John Fisher College and a recent graduate of the Syracuse University College of Law. Prior to law school, Alfreds interned at the New York Court of Claims for the Hon. Renee Minarik. During law school, he interned at the Office of the General Counsel at NASA in Washington, D.C.

Drive Research announced that TIMOTHY GELL has joined the market research company as a research analyst. Gell previously worked as a market research assistant at KS&R in Syracuse. He graduated from the Binghamton University School of Management in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree and a concentration in marketing. 

CoveyCS has promoted employees KEITH FOSMIRE and JOSHUA LOCASH.

Fosmire has been promoted to a full-time software developer. He joined CoveyCS in 2017 as an intern from SUNY Oswego’s Computer Science program. Fosmire is a U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army veteran, who has served his country through six deployments throughout the Middle East and a tour in South Korea.

Locash has been promoted from intern to full-time software developer. He is currently studying computer science at Mohawk Valley Community College and looks forward to graduating with his associate degree. After graduation, Locash plans to pursue his bachelor’s degree at SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
