ONEIDA — St. Joseph’s Health Cardiovascular Institute has opened an office on Oneida Health’s campus at 301 Genesee St. in Oneida.
Seven cardiologists from St. Joseph’s Physicians will staff the practice, the organization said in a Nov. 14 news release.
St. Joseph’s Health is leasing office space from Oneida Health for its new cardiology practice and plans to expand coverage there “over the coming months.”
“Delivering high quality care in home communities is best for the patient, and we are bringing expertise from one of the top 15 cardiac-care hospitals in the nation directly to patients in Oneida,” Dr. Joseph Spinale, chief medical officer at St. Joseph’s Health, contended. “When open-heart surgery or tertiary care is needed, patients from Oneida will have a direct connection to the leading heart hospital in the region.”
St. Joseph’s Health says it has “more than a dozen” different accreditations, certifications, and recognitions for cardiovascular care.
It “enhanced” its hospital-based services with the Aug. 16 opening of the A. John Merola Cardiovascular Center and the Oct. 11 formal opening of its Care Flight helipad.
That’s a helicopter-transport program for cardiovascular and stroke patients from outside Onondaga County.
