Security Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York has promoted three officers.
SUSAN A. INNEO was promoted to senior VP, general counsel, and secretary. She will serve as Security Mutual’s legal counsel for all company matters and will be responsible for leading tactical legal initiatives. Inneo began her career with Security Mutual in 2011 as VP, assistant general counsel, and was promoted in 2015 to VP, assistant general counsel and chief compliance officer. In 2018 she successfully completed the requirements for the COSO Enterprise Risk Management Certificate Program. Inneo is admitted to practice law in New York and Pennsylvania and is a member of the Broome County and New York State Bar Associations.
SEAN P. O’NEILL was promoted to second VP, agency operations. He directs Security Mutual’s Agency Department, as well as Security Mutual’s wholly owned subsidiary, SML Agency Services. In his new role, O’Neill will focus on maintaining and improving operational processes for efficiency and quality and will assist in strategically building out the company’s national marketing organization distribution channel. Since joining Security Mutual in 1997, he was promoted to a number of positions in the company’s Agency Department, where since 2014 he had been serving as assistant VP, agency operations.
DANIEL A. POWELL was promoted to second VP, policyowner services. In his new role, he will establish and support strategies designed to build positive customer experiences and oversee the implementation of high-level projects and initiatives. Powell began his career with Security Mutual in 2009 and was promoted to a number of positions in the company’s Individual Client Services Department, where since 2018 he had been serving as assistant VP, policyowner services.
Oswego Industries Inc., a Fulton–based nonprofit agency that supports working-age adults with developmental disabilities, has hired a new employee and also promoted another team member. CHRISTINE GEHAN has been hired as direct-support professional, and DAVID WALLACE has been promoted to direct support professional. Wallace started in the agency’s custodial staff in November 2019.
