ALBANY, N.Y. — New York on Monday reported 3,951 new coronavirus infections in the last day, a sharp decline from 5,902 positives a day earlier and 10,553 cases two days ago.
It was the lowest-ever percentage increase (1.4 percent) in virus cases in a day since the pandemic hit the state hard eight weeks ago.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday said 337 people lost their lives to COVID-19 in the last day, down from 367 a day earlier and 437 a couple day ago. It’s the lowest daily death count in the Empire State since April 4.
