The Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Development Council (MVREDC) has approved its preliminary action plan for 2012 and expects to submit a finalized plan on Sept. 14 to the state as its one-year progress report.
The area is one of 10 economic-development regions around the state competing for a share of more than $760 million in state funds for economic and community development.
The preliminary action plan details the region’s progress in advancing the MVREDC’s strategic plan developed last year, the status of projects awarded resources in the first round, and the priority projects MVREDC has identified for this year. The plan is online here.

The MVREDC has identified 70 priority projects for this second round, representing a total investment of $216 million and more than 1,100 potential new jobs and 3,000 retained jobs.
Last fall, the MVREDC submitted a plan that garnered $60.2 million in state support for 59 projects across Fulton, Herkimer, Montgomery, Oneida, Otsego, and Schoharie counties.
