GEDDES, N.Y. — Country music recording artist Miranda Lambert will be the first act to perform at the Lakeview Amphitheater on the shore of Onondaga Lake in a concert set for Sept. 3.
Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney made the concert announcement in front of Gate 1 at the New York State Fairgrounds in Geddes on Wednesday morning.
Lambert is a two-time, Grammy award winning singer and songwriter.

“I’m excited to be the first live music in the brand new Lakeview Amphitheater! Upstate New York is so beautiful to visit, breaking in the new amphitheater is just icing on the cake!,” Lambert said in a news release issued by the office of Gov. Andrew Cuomo also announcing the concert.
Lambert’s hit songs include, “The House That Built Me,” “Over You,” “Mama’s Broken Heart,” and “Little Red Wagon.”
Lambert made headlines recently with the announcement that she and her husband, country music recording star and “The Voice” TV show judge Blake Shelton, are divorcing.
Crews starting building the Lakeview Amphitheater earlier this year and it will replace the grandstand for State Fair concerts that require paid admission beginning in 2016.
“When we set out to do this project we set a very ambitious timetable and I am proud to say that this project has hit every milestone we have set … and the fact we can have a concert here in 2015 is because of the hard work of literally hundreds of people,” Mahoney said in Cuomo’s news release.
The amphitheater is under construction as part of a state-funded project to “revitalize” the neighborhoods along the western shore of Onondaga Lake, Cuomo’s office said.
Concert tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. Ticket prices will be $35 for lawn seats and $75 to $95 for reserved seating.
People can purchase tickets from the Oncenter box office or Ticketmaster.
A ticket purchase includes admission to the New York State Fair, Cuomo’s office said.
