MASSENA, N.Y. — North Country Liquor & Wine at 434 South Main St. in Massena, which formerly operated as Romeo’s Liquors, held a recent formal-opening ceremony.
That’s according to the Massena community office of the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce (STLC).
The new store is now owned and operated by Vipul and Punita Parmar, who also own the Super 8 Motel in Massena.

The Parmars purchased the business on Nov. 6 and, with the help of their staff, completed a month-long renovation, “working tirelessly for 14 hours a day,” STLC said in its announcement.
Vipul Parmar said that he was excited to be able to make such a “valuable community investment” by keeping the small business open and viable in Massena.
Those attending the recent formal opening included Vipul and Punita Parmar and their staff. Other guests attending included Massena Town Supervisor Sue Bellor; Ray Lancto, Massena Town Councilman; Mike Kassian of Kassian Real Estate; and Benjamin Dixon, executive director of the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce.
The North Country Liquor & Wine store is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 12-6 p.m., STLC said.
