Lyft Inc. has named Matt Rodrigues as the market manager of its “Greater New York State” operations, which includes the Syracuse market.
Besides Syracuse, Rodrigues’ areas of focus include Buffalo, Albany, Rochester, Long Island, Westchester, and the Lower Hudson Valley. His service area doesn’t include New York City.
Lyft, a San Francisco, California–based ride-hailing company, describes itself as “the fastest growing on-demand transportation service in the U.S.,” according to its Thursday news release. Lyft has been active in New York since June 2017.

Rodrigues has previously served as Lyft’s operations manager for New Jersey and upstate New York.
As operations manager, he hired employees for the Upstate region and “helped grow passenger and driver interest.”
Before joining Lyft in May 2017, Rodrigues was the director of customer experience at Helix Sleep in New York City.
