LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. — A wood-fired pizza restaurant in the Stone Mill building in Little Falls has a new owner and will soon reopen with a new name.

Chris Woodbeck opened Mangia Macrina’s Wood Fired Pizza in the mill building about five years ago. The restaurant officially closed on May 31, and is now owned by The Stone Mill.

Marica Bellico, a native of Naples (Napoli), Italy, will manage the restaurant, which will be renamed Nonna Maria. The culinary team also includes Katy Tomei and Carole Cole, who operate The Café at Stone Mill, its catering services, and Rock Valley Eats at Rock Valley Brewery.

The restaurant is closed for the first week of June to undergo renovations before reopening on June 10.

“Our love for Little Falls is the same, however we know that it is important to be strong in the community where you do business,” Woodbeck said in an Instagram post. “For me, living 30 minutes away made it difficult to be active in the community. We really appreciate Little Falls and the Stone Mill for hosting us for five years.”

Woodbeck has worked with Bellico over the past month to ensure a seamless transition and will continue to serve as a consultant.

“I’m honored to carry on the tradition of authentic Neapolitan pizza here in Little Falls,” Bellico said in an announcement about the restaurant transition. “This community reminds me so much of home — warm, welcoming, and passionate about good food. I’m excited to share the flavors and recipes that have been passed down in my family for generations and to continue building on the strong foundation Chris has created.”

The menu will include Mangia Macrina favorites while also including new offerings inspired by Bellico’s heritage.

Nonna Maria will hold a grand-opening event sometime in mid-July.

Woodbeck will now focus his efforts on his Utica location, which opened last fall almost two years after his original New Hartford restaurant was destroyed by arson. He also continues to operate a food truck.
