Lewis has been a licensed nursing-home administrator for 20 years and most recently served as the administrator of Sunset Nursing Home in Boonville. Previously, he owned and operated the Lewis House in Westmoreland for more than 20 years. He has a master’s degree in health services administration.
Lewis succeeds Anthony Joseph, who retired from the post.

Rome Health’s nursing home is rate five stars by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and has been ranked in the top 20 percent of skilled-nursing facilities for seven consecutive years by the New York State Nursing Home Quality Initiative, the organization noted.
Rome Health is a nonprofit health-care system providing services ranging from primary and specialty care to long-term care. It is an affiliate of St. Joseph’s Health and an affiliated clinical site of New York Medical College.
