Health-Care Career Moves – December 2017

UPSTATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY
TAMMY L. AUSTIN-KETCH, clinical professor and assistant dean of the MS/DNP programs at the University of Buffalo’s (UB) School of Nursing, has been named dean of the College of Nursing at SUNY Upstate Medical University. The appointment is effective Jan. 15. Austin-Ketch Ph.D., FNP, BC, FAANP has been a member of the nursing faculty at UB for nearly 20 years, where her work has been focused on preparing family nurse practitioners for work in Native American, underserved, and rural settings. Austin-Ketch earned her doctorate in epidemiology and public health (2008) and her master’s degree and family nurse practitioner (1996) at University of Buffalo. She was named a fellow of the American Academy of Nurses in 2010. Upstate’s College of Nursing, enrolls more than 350 students in a variety of programs.

OSWEGO HEALTH
The Center for Wound Healing at Oswego Health, which offers treatment practices and protocols to reintroduce the body’s innate ability to heal, has appointed CARLOS DATOR, JR.., as medical director. Dator is responsible for reviewing patient care and results, evaluating new clinical products, and providing oversight and guidance on policies and procedures. He took part in specialized wound-care training at Healogics University, located in Jacksonville, Florida, enabling him to treat hard-to-heal wounds and deliver hyperbaric medicine care. Dator graduated from Oswego High School and attended Loyola College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He obtained his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, located on the island of St. Maarten. He completed his family medicine residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center in Syracuse. Along with serving as medical director for the Center for Wound Healing, Dr. Dator is a hospitalist providing care to Oswego Hospital patients, and sees patients in a private office in Oswego.
