ONEONTA, N.Y. — Hartwick College has launched the HartLand Promise to make attending school comparable to, or in some cases less than, the cost of a four-year public college or university in the state.
The program, which begins in the fall of 2023, allows eligible Hartwick students to pay $8,775 in tuition and fees. To be eligible, students must live in Otsego, Chenango, Delaware, Herkimer, Madison, Montgomery, Oneida, or Schoharie County; have to be accepted as a full-time, first-time Hartwick student taking 12 credits; and must reside on campus.
The college anticipates the additional support from the program could benefit about 6,500 current high-school seniors in the 97 public high schools and 11 private high schools within the eight designated counties.
