WATERTOWN, N.Y. — The Greater Watertown-North Country (GWNC) Chamber of Commerce has decided to sell its building at 1241 Coffeen St. in Watertown.
The organization contends the decision to sell the building will “best serve” the organization’s members and business partners throughout the region, it said in a news release.
As plans proceed, the GWNC Chamber will work with its executive committee and board of directors to identity a suitable buyer and explore options for a new space located in downtown Watertown.

This relocation strategy will bring the organization back to its roots with accessible and modern office space, allowing the Chamber to continue to broaden the opportunities available to members and to provide support in an ever-changing business climate,” the chamber said.
The building is also home of the North Country Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC).
It’s not the first time that GWNC Chamber has tried to sell the Coffeen Street building. In late 2014, the organization moved to the Bruce M. Wright Memorial Conference Center at 1291 Faichney Drive in Watertown. The chamber said it had moved to the new space with the intention of selling the Coffeen Street location, but the building didn’t sell. The organization then returned to 1241 Coffeen St. in 2016.
