SYRACUSE — The Syracuse Crunch hockey team on Tuesday announced it has entered into a long-term partnership with Galaxy Communications and ESPN Radio (97.7 FM/100.1 FM) to broadcast all 76 Crunch regular season games and any Calder Cup playoff games in the upcoming season.
The Syracuse Crunch is the American Hockey League’s defending Eastern Conference champions, having lost to the Grand Rapids Griffins in the Calder Cup Finals in June.
Game broadcasts will begin with the Crunch’s season opener on Oct. 5 as the team travels to Binghamton to face the Senators in a 7:05 p.m. faceoff, the Syracuse Crunch said in a news release.

Crunch hockey games were previously broadcast on The Score (AM-1260), a Cumulus Media station.
Dan D’ Uva will continue on as the play-by-play announcer on Crunch broadcasts.
Syracuse Crunch fans will now be able to hear the games on FM and AM for the first time, Edward (Ed) Levine, president and CEO of Galaxy Communications, said in the news release.
“Plus by also involving [Galaxy’s Syracuse radio stations] TK99, KROCK and Sunny 102 in various promotions throughout the season, we have some crazy ideas planned to add to the legendary promotional prowess of the Crunch,” Levine said.
“We feel this partnership will enable us to integrate our marketing efforts with those of Ed Levine and Galaxy Communications which at the end of the day will be a benefit to all hockey and sports fans in Syracuse,” Crunch owner Howard Dolgon said in the release.
Financial terms of the partnership weren’t disclosed.
