Frankfort site is shovel ready for logistics-center development

FRANKFORT, N.Y. — The Central New York Logisitics Center is being marketed as the largest industrial-development site in New York and New England with space for a 1-million-square-foot building.

Located just across Higby Road from a Tractor Supply distribution center, the site boasts 82 acres already supplied with electric, gas, water, and sewer infrastructure, according to the website centralnewyorklogisticscenter.com.

A rendering on the website illustrates a 1,030,040-square-foot building with 1,013,040 square feet of warehouse and 17,000 square feet of office space. It offers room for parking 628 trailers along with 419 cars.

The property is approved for a number of development incentives including sales-tax exemption on construction materials, real estate tax abatement, and mortgage recording tax exemption from the Herkimer County Industrial Development Agency. The site is also eligible for the state FAST NY Shovel-Ready Grant Program and the Excelsior Jobs Tax Credit.

Located along State Route 5S, the property is also located near the New York State Thruway. Other nearby corporate neighbors include Heidelberg Bread, Amazon, and DeIorio’s in Frankfort and Wilcor International, PepsiCo, the Home Depot, and Fountainhead Group in the Schuyler Business Park.
