JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. — Four Broome County businesses have secured small business funding awards of $10,000 each from the Town of Union local development corporation’s (LDC) grant access program (GAP).
LDC officials announced the grant recipients at a Wednesday news conference in Johnson City. They held the news conference at 250 Main St., at the future home of Johnson City Coffee Roasting Co., LLC, which secured one of the announced grants.
The three additional grant recipients include Mindful Health & Wellness, LLC of Endicott; Binghamton Surgical Spine d/b/a Senecka Spine, to be located at 122 West Main St., Endicott; and Fat Cat Comic Books in Johnson City.

“This pilot grant program has been a couple of years in the making and is being put into practice to assist with what the LDC recognized as an increased financial need for start-up and existing businesses wanting to locate or stay in the town of Union,” Steve Trichka, president of the Town of Union LDC board of directors, said in discussing the expectations of the grant program. “We hope this incentive will help move each of their projects along.”
