GLENS FALLS, N.Y. — A woman who previously held leadership positions at Onondaga Community College (OCC) and Cayuga Community College (Cayuga CC) has accepted a job with a communications firm in Glens Falls.
Kristine Duffy, Ed.D. now works as a senior strategic advisor with Behan Communications, Inc. She most recently served for 12 years as the seventh president of SUNY Adirondack in Queensbury before retiring in 2025, per the Behan announcement.
Duffy’s prior experiences include leadership posts at OCC and Cayuga CC, preceded by administrative and counseling roles in higher education and secondary education.
Alongside Behan’s principals, Duffy will work with crisis communication and public-affairs clients and help in business development.

There is no stronger champion for our region, its workforce, and the concept of an inclusive community. Dr. Duffy’s success as a leader in higher education and economic development is applicable to every community, and we are eager to share her experience and perspective with our clients.”
As the second-longest-serving president in the history of SUNY Adirondack, Duffy led a multi-campus community college serving 6,000 students annually with a $31 million operating budget and 385 employees.
Under her leadership, the institution increased graduation rates by more than 12 percent, Behan Communications said. She oversaw more than $50 million in capital investments to support teaching and learning; spearheaded an increase in workforce-focused degrees and short-term training programs; and secured millions of dollars in grant revenue to dramatically increase equipment, classroom needs, support services and programs to improve student success outcomes.
Duffy holds a doctor of education in executive leadership degree from St. John Fisher University, a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from Russell Sage College, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from SUNY Brockport.
