MANLIUS, N.Y. — Drago Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu recently opened in a 2,200-square-foot space it leases at the Limestone Commons Shopping Center at 240 West Seneca St. in the village of Manlius.
Drago Brazilian says it is a Jiu-Jitsu training academy for people of all ages to learn the “dynamic art” of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and self-defense skills. On its website, the academy adds that it’s a “family oriented facility that emphasizes martial arts training as a means to add balance to your life.”
The business offers classes for men, women, teens, and younger children. It provides classes daily, except for Sundays.

The academy says it uses foam block sub-flooring in its space, designed to absorb and disperse the energy from landing on the mat, which seeks to help prevent injuries. The flooring is similar to the type used at gymnastics and judo facilities, per the Drago Brazilian website.
The Limestone Commons Shopping Center’s other tenants include Geddes Federal Savings Bank, Fairway Physical Therapy, Oviatt Hearing & Balance, and Manlius Pharmacy.
Ellish Realty, LLC owns the shopping center, according to Onondaga County’s online property records.
