Crouse completes Witting Surgical Center

SYRACUSE — Crouse Hospital has finished work on its Chris J. and Marshia K. Witting Surgical Center.

The hospital wrapped up four new inpatient operating rooms, capping a $50 million project that also included phases completed in 2010 and 2011. The first of the new operating rooms is set to start receiving patients this spring.

They bring Crouse to a total of 18 inpatient operating rooms. The Syracuse hospital is operating under a strategy of attempting to increase its surgical volume. It performed surgeries for 9,418 inpatients in 2012, up 9 percent from the previous year.
