CORTLANDVILLE, N.Y. — New York State Police in Homer on Wednesday arrested Anthony J. Fenton, age 36 of Cortlandville, for the felony of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the first degree.
A state trooper was dispatched to a report that a man attempted to use a counterfeit bill at the Kwik Fill in the town of Cortlandville. The trooper located Fenton who matched the description of the suspect. While interviewing Fenton, the officer discovered that he was in possession of six fake $100 bills, according to a State Police news release.
Fenton was arrested and processed at the State Police station in Homer. He was then transported to the Cortland County Jail for arraignment.
