Nearly 87,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have so far been administered in the five-county Central New York region out of more than 95,000 doses received, a 91 percent rate, the state reported Tuesday.
The region — which encompasses Onondaga, Madison, Oswego, Cayuga, and Cortland counties — tops all regions in New York state in the percentage of does received that have been administered. Western New York ranks second at 82 percent and the Finger Lakes region is third at 78 percent.
The statewide percentage is 74 percent. In all, nearly 1.4 million vaccine doses have made it into arms in the state, out of almost 1.9 million doses received.
