Customers of Citizens Bank were unable to access their bank accounts Friday morning, the Providence, R.I.–based bank said on social media.
Around 8 a.m., Citizens, which has 18 branches in Central New York, posted on Twitter that customers were unable able to access accounts and the posting of transactions was impacted “due to a processing delay.” The bank went on to say, “Our technical teams are fully engaged on the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
Around 11:30 a.m., the bank tweeted again: “The processing delay this morning has been resolved and all transactions have been posted. We are currently working through access issues impacting mobile and online banking.”
