GEDDES — The John M. & Mary L. Gallinger and John F. Marsellus Funds have awarded a grant totaling up to about $23,000 to the Centers at St. Camillus, the organization announced.
The Central New York Community Foundation, Inc. recently notified the Centers at St. Camillus about this grant funding.
The organization will use the funding for a project to relocate and improve its resident-gathering space, the Centers at St. Camillus said in a news release.

Ask the Expert: Investing in the Future with Registered Apprenticeship
In today’s competitive job market, finding and retaining top talent can be incredibly challenging. For companies, Registered Apprenticeship is an investment not only in its employees but in its future.
The nonprofit is aiming to “enhance the lives” of its residents and patients, Christine Kearney, vice president of rehabilitation and community-based services at the Centers at St. Camillus, said in the release.
“This significant contribution has helped us to move forward with this phase of the project,” Kearney said.
Prior to the announcement of this grant, the Centers at St. Camillus conducted a fundraising campaign to help pay for the gathering-place project, the nonprofit said.
Once crews complete work on the resident-gathering space, St. Camillus plans to relocate its occupational-therapy department, which administers therapies for patients who are preparing to return home.
The Centers also plans to relocate its beauty salon, which offers services to residents, patients, and participants in its adult day health program.
St. Camillus provides rehabilitative health-care services for Central New Yorkers, offering inpatient, outpatient, and home-care services that include brain-injury rehabilitation, continuing care, sub-acute rehabilitation, outpatient therapies, medical transport, adult day health services, community-based services, and wellness education, the organization said.
