CAZENOVIA, N.Y. — Cazenovia College on Thursday announced that it’s planning for a fall 2020 academic calendar that will begin a week earlier with in-person classes starting on Aug.18.
That campus-reopening plan is pending guidance from New York State, the school said.
The condensed schedule will enable students to complete a full semester of instruction, including finals, prior to leaving for the Thanksgiving break and not returning until the 2021 spring semester.

“Knowing our students’ desire to be on campus, I am pleased that we are able to provide this solution.” Ron Chesbrough, president of Cazenovia College, said. “The revised academic calendar enables the college to fulfill academic requirements and is the least disruptive schedule for our students.”
The revised academic calendar was developed by the fall 2020 return-to-campus task force made up of administrators, faculty, and staff from across the campus.
“I commend the task force for having completed an accelerated planning process that included a thorough and inclusive evaluation of several options,” said Chesbrough.
