DICKINSON, N.Y. — The annual Spiedie Fest & Balloon Rally will return to its traditional early-August weekend for 2022.
This dates for this year’s event — August 5,6, and 7 — were announced Thursday by Broome County and festival officials.
Otsiningo Park in the town of Dickinson, just north of Binghamton, will continue to host Spiedie Fest, as it has for the majority of the 38 years of the event’s history.

The COVID-19 pandemic caused last year’s Spiedie Fest to be shifted to October, Broome County Parks officials said in a release. The return to August will help attract big-name musical artists, many of whom only tour outdoors until Labor Day. The summer weather also allows for better conditions for hot-air balloon launches and is a more convenient date for many of the balloon pilots that fly at Spiedie Fest, organizers contend. Additionally, the summer dates will allow Spiedie Fest to attract vendors that visitors are used to seeing at Otsiningo Park each year.
