HERKIMER, N.Y. — Arc Herkimer recently held a graduation celebration for its Distribution Center Candidate Training Program.
Three candidates participated in the first round of the program, which ran in three rotations at three Herkimer Industries sites. Each candidate spent 16 weeks in training positions at sites in Herkimer, Little Falls, and Ilion, gaining product and distribution skills in warehouse operations, fork-truck certification, packing, shipping, scaling, and more.
The goal of the program is to offer mentoring and on-the-job training to prepare candidates for future employment. All three graduates are moving on to employment within the community.
