SYRACUSE, N.Y. — American Airlines has added special nonstop flights between Syracuse and South Bend, Indiana for Syracuse University (SU) football fans attending the team’s matchup with Notre Dame on Nov. 22.
American is offering a special nonstop flight from Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR) directly to South Bend International Airport (SBN) at 2:30 pm on Friday, Nov. 21, the Syracuse Regional Airport Authority (SRAA) announced Monday.
Fans can then return directly to Syracuse via an 11:30 a.m. nonstop flight on Sunday, Nov 23.

The airline is scheduled to operate its Embraer E-175 aircraft on the special flights with seating for about 76 Orange football fans, SRAA noted.
“We’re grateful American Airlines has identified and delivered on this opportunity to better serve the Orange Nation this fall,” Jason Terreri, SRAA executive director, said in the announcement. “It’s no secret S.U. fans are willing to travel to support the program and this additional service into South Bend will help Orange fans show out in force.”
If interested, flights will be available for sale on the airline’s website, AA.com, late Sunday, June 29, SRAA said.
American’s not the only airline adding a flight for the Syracuse-Notre Dame matchup.
Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) also plans nonstop flights from SYR directly to SBN before and after the game, SRAA announced back on May 2.
