SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Landmark Theatre says crews have started work on the next phase of the interior renovation of the venue with the restoration of the 97-year-old auditorium.
It marks the first time the auditorium has been professionally restored in its history, with the goal of returning the space to its original 1928 appearance, per the Landmark Theatre Facebook page.
The project will include the restoration and repainting of the proscenium arch, the balcony walls and balcony rail, and the ceiling. In a subsequent phase, the Landmark will address the rear balcony, the orchestra level, and the textiles around the perimeter of the auditorium, it said.
