MARCY, N.Y. — SUNY Polytechnic Institute and Assured Information Security (AIS) have signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) marking an expansion of their partnership to strengthen shared goals of advancing cutting-edge research, supporting regional innovation, and preparing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
“SUNY Poly is proud to partner with AIS to provide transformative experiences for our students and faculty,” SUNY Poly President Winston Soboyejo said in a joint announcement. “AIS’s investment in our students and in future generations in this critical field of cybersecurity underscores their commitment to regional excellence, innovation, and leadership. This collaboration will ensure our students are not only prepared but inspired to lead in the digital age.”
The agreement outlines the scope of collaboration between SUNY Poly and AIS with key initiatives including joint research and collaborative grant applications; AIS-sponsored SUNY Poly senior design projects; student access to an AIS open-source fissure program; development of advanced scenarios for SUNY Poly’s cybersecurity range; student and faculty engagement with UAShack.org; exploration of manufacturing services and circuit-board design opportunities at SUNY Poly; creation of a dedicated student-internship pipeline; a summer fellowship and mentorship program for junior faculty; and year-round support for SUNY Poly’s K-12 outreach programming in STEM and cybersecurity.
