SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Onondaga County says the application period for the Onondaga County Small Festival Fund grant program is open.
The $100,000 initiative is “dedicated to supporting and bolstering” the many small arts and cultural festivals that happen throughout Onondaga County. CNY Arts is administering the Small Festival Fund program.
“Quality of life is a large part of what makes our community so special, and the arts and entertainment are also a critical part of our local economy,” Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon said in the announcement. “We are fortunate to host numerous diverse and successful festivals throughout the year, greatly contributing to that quality of life we all enjoy. This initiative is designed to support and grow these festivals so that we can continue to enjoy these unique and great events for years to come.”

Grant awards and funding recommendations will be determined through a peer-review process conducted by a panel of artists, arts administrations, and community leaders. The application portal opened April 1.
Successful applicants will receive awards of up to $7,500, which the recipient can use to pay for items such as, but not limited to, artists fees, marketing/publicity costs or project related costs such as rental of space or equipment. Only nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply for the grant with a deadline of April 29.
